I guess this is true. At any given time at my house, I'll be hacking away at my Blackberry Storm or iPhone and my wife will be jamming along to Facebook status updates on the Mac. All the while, my five year old will be asking to use "your work puter" so she can go on Playhouse Disney. Then there's my two year old who knows that my iPod touch has a couple kid type games on there and she says, "coins, coins," which means that she wants to play connect four.
So yea, maybe social media and technology is taking away from family face time, but not family time in general. However, I get the article's point.
