There are a variety of things that motivate people: family, entrepreneurial spirit, revenge, etc. Free spirit is another one of those motivating factors and that's the folks featured in this video have.

Specifically, this is a documentary about Jason Paul, a free runner that tries to find new ways in his daily life to fulfill his inner needs. On his journey to London he discovers that friendship and companion are essential values in life.

While this is a cool story, I question this free running concept. Yea, it takes a whole lot of athleticism, courage and creativity, but to me it appears these people lack a grounding in reality.

DogfishIt's no secret that I'm a beer lover. In fact, I'm probably more like a beer snob. I don't drink the commercial domestic stuff. My beer fridge is packed with random goodness, mostly from microbreweries.

My fascination with microbrews has turned into an obsession. And, at the top of that obsession list is Dogfish Head.

For those of you still sucking back Buds, Dogfish Head is located in Rehoboth Beach, DE and its motto is "Off-centered ales for off-centered people."

The brews aren't for lighthearted beer drinkers. They are packed with flavor, hops and overall beer goodness (not to mention fairly a high APV.)

I've tried just about every single Dogfish flavor available in the Greater Boston market. I'm so obsessed that I have a couple of Dogfish glasses and some DF gear on the way (office stuff and some other things).

So today, when I got the confirmation that I am going to interview Sam Calagione, the founder of Dogfish Head beer, I felt like a kid on Christmas morning.

The beauty of social media is that everyone can do it. With a little reading, homework, testing, analyzing and effort, anyone can be a guru. As a result, the space is like a crowded supermarket on a half-off coupon day. It's packed. Some know how to shop smart, some just look good shopping.

One thing "gurus" like to do is tie everything that trends online - literally everything - to a lesson learned.

This was the case with the death of Osama Bin Laden. Just Google his name and the words social media lessons and see what you come up with.

One result that should pop up in the wash is a post written by my buddy @MSGiro over at Technorati, titled, "What Osama Bin Liden Taught Me About Scrapbooking".

Google always has a pretty neat way of jazzing up their logos for special occasions, mysterious dates in history and sometimes just because.

Today, of course, the company is celebrating Hallow's Eve or better known as Halloween.

If you cruise over to Wikipedia and look up Halloween, you'll find that the word itself comes from the 16th century. It's a Scottish word from "All-Hallows-Even" (“evening”), which is the night before All Hallows Day or “All Saints Day”.

Old Revere Beach, Revere, MABeing a father of two young daughters, every day during the summer is a blessing because it takes you away from the daily musings of the office as well as the typical stuff us dads tend to worry about — beer, food, football, etc. Kidding…we really think having a good home life for our family; ensuring that the finances are in order (current and future); spending time with other family and friends; and, enjoying every minute of life.

The summer is tee’d up for parents, i.e. an open invitation to do whatever you want with the kids — day trips, vacations, pool time, beach fun, backyard grilling sessions, bike riding, etc. It’s the time of the year that you really get to enjoy your family because it’s an active time.

Blogging is old hat. Online journals like Blog City, Geocities, Live Journal and the original Blogger (pre-Google), paved the way for today's Wordpress, Squarespace, Google's Blogger and CSS.

Despite blogging being around for quite some time, there are still writers and executives of companies out there that are nervous about blogging. They don't know what to say. They don't think anyone will care to read their stuff. They just don't think it's worth the investment.

However, once most bloggers get a whiff of success, i.e. your first thread that reaches over 100 views and gets a slew of comments, they are hooked.
