If you don't know who Representative Anthony D. Weiner is then you've been hiding under a rock. He's the moron that committed political suicide by Tweeting questionable pics to women that weren't his wife.
There are a zillion stories out there like this and it's a stark reminder that whatever you publish on the web -- either by blogging, Tweeting, Facebooking, etc. -- will always live on then web. It's more important than ever to have self-censorship. Before you even type, think to yourself, can this tarnish my, my employers, my brand's or my client's reputation in some way shape or form. If the answer is remotely close to use, then hit the delete button.
It's really that simple.
Here's a good piece from Joe Battenfeld about the Weiner story. He chats with my former colleague and political/PR veteran David Guarino, who delivers the money quote.
