The Tim Cahill campaign corruption case is an interesting thing to follow. You can point the fingers in a lot of directions, but I personally point the finger to Hill Holiday, the advertising agency.

As counselors, it's our job to provide our clients with smart, creative and business-moving ideas. However, it's not our job to do unethical things just to help our bottom line.

In my opinion, that's what happened here.

A Revere Police Officer is on medical leave after the WBZ-TV iTeam bags him slacking off on the job. They officer was spending time at home when he should have been in the community doing his job.

It's interesting that the Chief of Police did an on-camera interview. It makes sense from a PR perspective. I could have written those talking points verbatim before I heard the interview:

- This is clearly unacceptable - We will be reviewing the issue and addressing it appropriately - This is a supervisory issue as well - The officer is on leave (paid medical, I'm sure) - The Revere Police will ensure that this doesn't happen again and that measures are put in place to avoid this in the future

However, what Reardon, the Chief, isn't telling you, is that it's all bullshit. Yea, they are understaffed by about 20 officers. Yea, the city is hurting from a budget perspective. But, the list of corruption at the city level is about as long as the Charles. Remember that Revere cop that was killed? Do you really believe that story?

Hmmm…

If you don't know who Representative Anthony D. Weiner is then you've been hiding under a rock. He's the moron that committed political suicide by Tweeting questionable pics to women that weren't his wife.

There are a zillion stories out there like this and it's a stark reminder that whatever you publish on the web -- either by blogging, Tweeting, Facebooking, etc. -- will always live on then web.

My disdain for politics is well-known (at least by my friends and those that read this blog). My feelings toward the folks that run the City of Revere are also pretty well documented. To cut to the chase, read the post where I tell the powers that be to STFU and get back to work.

So you can imagine my disgust when I read this article from the Revere Journal.

The Readers Digest version goes like a little something like this: an unnamed source says that one of the mayoral candidates tried to get the cops to arrest another candidate for drunk driving -- actually, catch them in the act, then having them arrested.

The person being accused is George Rotondo. In my STFU post, I mentioned that he has been the only politician I've talked to that gave me the impression that he actually cared about the issues that are important to me:

My plight against the City of Revere is well documented, sort of. It was nice to hear from my state representative's office and the media that covers the city -- both of which were very responsive and understanding of the issues I've been complaining about.

To date, I've heard nothing directly from the city. I image that's probably because no one in City Hall reads my blog. That's fine, for now.

Regardless, the eye sores are gone -- the orange construction barrel and the Christmas tree. That's fantastic and I thank whomever is responsible for their removal. I know it's a small gripe, but it was important to me.
