You socially aware peeps will know what Movember is, so I'm not speaking to you. For those of you who aren't socially aware -- and I mean social media -- here's what it's all about:
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
Of course, those of you who know me or follow me on the social web will say, hey, you already have some facial hair so you have to lop it all off and start fresh.
Nah, that's not gonna happen. I've been rocking the out of style goatee for nearly 10 years and I'm not going to lop it off now. The kids would freak. Trust me, I've asked them.
So what's the Big Guy going to do, you ask (and yes, I just referred to myself in the third person)?
I'm going with a hybrid mo.
Here are my options:
- Go with a scruffy look all around, but let the stash grow a little longer than the rest - Let the goatee grow all month long without trimming it back (which might get kind of scary after a while - Go all Grizzly Adams on your ass. That's right, no shaving any facial hair. Let it all fly.
My guess is that I'll be able to get away with the first option in terms of the kids not freaking out and the wife still allowing me to sleep in our bed.
Regardless of which option I go with, I still need your help. I need you folks to visit my Movember site and donate and support my effort. I don't care if it's a buck. I don't care if it's 10 bucks. I don't care of it's 100 bucks. Whatever it is, just show your support for the cause.
In all seriousness, this is a good cause that you can get behind and have a little fun with. So come on, get your Movember on!!!
