It appears that Google has removed third-party review sites from Google Maps. This is totally absurd. I realize that Google is trying to push harder into the social space, but why get rid of reviews from Yelp and Menupages.com?
It's super silly.
Google is going to purely rely on Googlers to create content for maps. Why not continue to use sites that consumers are leveraging already? Why ignore the power of Yelp, for example?
Well, the answer is simple: Google wants to control the content to help with search. It's really that simple, but a stupid move in my opinion.
What do you think?
