Why I'm not at SXSW

Why I'm not at SXSW

Loads of my social media friends are at SXSW right now. They are learning about new apps, new technologies, meeting new people, hanging out with others they've known but never met in real life and partying.

I'm not jealous one bit. You see, there's this thing called the Internet. In it, there are things called social networks. These social networks are basically a live 24 hours newsfeed of anything and everything I could want to know about or in most cases, don't care to know about.

File SXSW under the I do want to know about category. But instead of spending big bucks to head out there, I can get all the real juicy stuff that comes out of the conference through the interwebs.

For example, Meerkat, a streaming video service probably seven years too late is getting super hyped. The network also is getting the boot from Twitter already. And apparently the video streaming hype continues.

So, I've learned the most important news coming out of the conference by a quick glance of a SXSW hashtag on Twitter and a quick newsstand.

I spent zippo bucks.

Ok, news the time the "SXSW is more about the people than the technology, you hermit" haters start hammering me.

Whatever. I'm going back to the Internet. Tweet me
