When a 5-Year-Old Birthday Party Meets Tailgaiting at Home

This weekend, the wife and I hosted 30 or so of our close friends and family to our house to celebrate my youngest's 5th birthday. Typically, these parties translate to the guys hanging out on the deck, enjoying some BBQ, talking sports and generally enjoying some guy time.

That was the case this weekend. The party started at 1pm and went into the wee hours of the morning. And, thanks to the folks at Apartment Guide, we were able to pick up some extra goodies for the guests. We enjoyed a slew of pizza and a variety of munchies that kept us all fed the entire night.

When asked about the extra snacks, I told our guests that I wasn't going overboard and was just passing along the goodness that Apartment Guide passed on to me in the form of a $200 gift card to help plan the party. It also turned into a sporting event as we enjoyed some college football games as well as the Bruins game later that night.

All in all, it was a great party and I thank the folks at Apartment Guide for the hook-up as part of the "Tailgating at Home" Blogger Challenge.

Stay tuned as next week I'm going to post a little something about $100 AMEX gift card contest.
